Indications	Transfusion haemosiderosis, esp in cases of thalassaemia, other haemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia & myelodysplastic syndromes,acute Fe poisoning, siderosis associated w/ liver cirrhosis & for diagnosis of Fe-storage diseases.
Dosage	75 mg/kg/day in 2-4 divided doses. May be adequate w/ 50 mg/kg/day or increased to 100 mg/kg/day.
Administration	May be taken with or without food
Special Precautions	Impaired hepatic or renal function, excretion of Fe complex may cause reddish brown color of the urine.
Adverse Drug Reactions	Joint pain, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, gastric discomfort. Rarely, agranulocytosis, neutropenia, Zn depletion. View ADR Monitoring Form
