| Indications | Symptomatic relief &/or prevention of bronchospasm associated w/ asthma, chronic bronchitis & emphysema. | |||||||||||
| Dosage | Adult Initially 16 mg/kg or 400 mg (whichever is less) in 2 divided doses, then gradually increase up to 800 mg/day. Childn ≥16 yr 13 mg/kg or 900 mg daily (whichever is less),12-16 yr 18 mg/kg daily, 9-12 yr 20 mg/kg daily, up to 9 yr 24 mg/kg daily. | |||||||||||
| Administration | May be taken with or without food (May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.) | |||||||||||
| Contraindications | Hypersensitivity to xanthine derivatives. Active peptic ulcer, seizure disorders. | |||||||||||
